We are currently developing a multi-condominium project at 2218 Canyon Drive in the City of Costa Mesa. Along with our supporting neighbors, we recently submitted plans for a lot line adjustment that would increase the lot of 2218 Canyon, thereby increasing it’s density requirement. The subject property is a single family home on a roughly 1/3 acre lot surrounded by higher density multi-unit condos and apartments in the city’s R2-MD zone. Development in Costa Mesa is particularly difficult in high density areas like these due to the down zoning across the city landscape which occurred back in the early 90s. In addition to developing our lot, we hope to raise awareness in our community of the current zoning problems that plague Costa Mesa and prevent needed growth and improvements in this specific and diverse location in particular.
